Managing an event for 10 people or 10,000, the principles will always stay the same.

Whether you’re managing 10 people or 10,000, the principles stay the same. It’s simply a matter of volume. Build the right support, stay calm, and run the event the same way you always have.

Once you understand that 100 people or 1,000 people, is just “add a zero,” once you comprehend this critical point, then the size of the event stops being intimidating and you can simply focus on that particular catering event for what it is….an individual event with certain perameters.

One point that keeps coming up with this discussion or frankly over the decades, is “Relationships“! You have to develope relationships with Any and Every Person you ever come into contact with. Now, don’t be fake! If you’re fake, any right minded person is going to instinctively feel it and blow you off. It could be the person making popcorn for the event. Don’t look at who you are working with, instead, look at who can assist you. And be Honest!!! If someone wants to F you up!, all they have to do is say, “I don’t know”. Now you’re standing there with no direction.

Treat ALL people with kindness and honesty. Respect their position and realize that, even though they may be sweeping the floor, that very person sweeping the floor is often person who gets ignored and is most often more aware of what’s going on around the venue, who knows who and what can be done to make the sitution easier.

Maybe that’s beyond your scope, but don’t ignore all the people working in any space. They may have years of knowledge that can help make your next event run smoothly.
