Before we go further, I want to give you a clear sense of who I am and why this site exists.

My name is Steven Lemire. For more than forty years I’ve been building, creating, solving problems, and learning from real experience. The best lessons I’ve learned didn’t come from textbooks — they came from doing the work.

I was born and raised in Vancouver, Canada, the youngest of seven children. That busy household taught me hard work, curiosity, and how to figure things out. Over the years I moved from being a busser and waiter up into hotel management, and eventually spent more than four decades in hospitality, catering, and event management.

I’ve organized everything from intimate weddings to conferences for thousands of guests, and had the privilege of working on events involving people such as His Holiness the Dalai Lama, members of the Japanese Imperial Family, and Mexico’s President Vicente Fox. Those experiences reinforced a simple truth: success is rarely about being in the spotlight. It’s about helping others shine — and paying attention to every detail.

In 2010 I began a new chapter in Mérida, Mexico, restoring a nineteenth-century colonial home and creating CasablancaLiving.com. That project deepened my respect for craftsmanship, history, and the quiet stories old homes carry.

I’ve always worked with my hands — woodworking, repairs, home improvement — and that same curiosity eventually led me to painting. As a self-taught artist I’ve created more than one hundred paintings, many of which now hang in homes around the world. You can see more at ArtStudio5.com.

This website and my YouTube Channel exist for one purpose: to share the practical lessons, systems, and real experiences that turn potential chaos into controlled success — whether you’re organizing an event, restoring a home, or simply trying to raise the standard of how you do things.
